Thank you for your interest in my Painting into Photographs workshop!
Sunday Nov. 10th 11am to 3:30pm
Create mixed media art with your photographs! Bring printed photographs and I will provide the rest of the materials. For your prints I recommend making duplicates of three or more 8 x 10 photos so you can try different techniques on each one. Bring prints that you like. They can be landscapes, cityscapes, portraits, interiors, or of objects. I look forward to seeing the selection you make!
I often print on Epson Presentation Paper Matte. https://epson.com/For-Home/Paper/Presentation/Presentation-Paper-Matte/m/S041062
If you can’t use that, card stock or heavier flyer paper will work. At many places you can print your photo on canvas or metal. Bring that if you can. I have not had success with glossy paper.
I will show you how I glaze over the image with subtle colorization and how I cover the photos with thick and thin paint. I will show you how to mount your photograph on a panel. I will not be providing panels for you. You can get them at art supply stores or even bring something you already have like a cabinet drawer or a wooden box for mount. Mounting your painted photograph is optional. Here is a link to the list of supplies I use.
The class will be limited to six people due to studio space. If the weather is nice we can use the outdoor space adjacent to my studio.
The cost will be $100 each with a material fee of approximately $10. To sign up and pay in advance go here. You can email me to hold your space.
I look forward to seeing you!
